Come ride in the scenic and historic area of the Gypsum Hills around Medicine Lodge and Sun City, KS.
Beautiful plateaus, bluffs and hills with native yucca, red soil and the sparkle of the famous "gypsum mineral". Lot's of history in this area as well! Ride the Larson ranch & camp; let your trail guides, Robert or Mark tell you the fascinating history surrounding the Larson Ranch.

Gypsum Hills Trail Rides 2019 events:

*All Women’s Ride held the first Saturday of May and the following Sunday. This year the date is May 4 and 5, 2019. $40 per person for any female in camp (access fee). Men are NOT allowed in camp. Guided rides will occur on Saturday and Sunday. A pot luck dinner will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday. Pens are available first come first serve for $20 per weekend.

Electrical hookups are available by reserving with payment $20 per night, to Robert at 620-886-0776. Two free pens are included when you book an electrical hookup spot.

*Memorial Day Weekend Ride $30 access fee per person in camp. Pens are available first come first serve for $20 per weekend. Electrical hookups are available by reserving with payment $20 per night, to Robert at 620-886-0776. Two free pens are included when you book an electrical hookup spot.

*Labor Day Weekend Ride $30 access fee per person in camp. Pens available first come first serve for $20 per weekend. Electrical hookups are available by reserving with payment $20 per night, to Robert at 620-886-0776. Two free pens are included when you book an electrical hookup spot.

*Indian Summer Days Fall Trail Ride September 27-29, 2019 Trail boss guided rides Friday morning and afternoon, and Saturday morning and afternoon. Sunday riding will be on your own.

* Other activities going on that weekend in Medicine Lodge in conjunction with the Indian Summer Days Fall Trail Ride will be:
Kansas State Ranch Rodeo
Indian Summer Days Powwows (historical Native American dances)
Arts and Crafts Show

Advanced Reservations to attend are not required for the rides but please call Charyl @ 785-452-1214 or email us at gyphilltrailride@hotmail.com to let us know you plan to attend. Rides will be held rain or shine.

The “Pouting House” will again be available for rent this year. The Pouting House is located 2 miles from the campsite at Robert’s house. The lodging features two beds, couch, refrigerator, heating and air conditioning, and BBQ grill. Equine can also be stalled right by the lodging. There is an original outhouse beside the Pouting House and guests are also welcome to use the shower house at the campground just 2 miles away.
